Data Dunk: An Investigation Into Data-Driven Decision Making in Basketball

My zine is called Data Dunk, a short play on words to hint towards the zine’s content: data-driven decision-making (DDDM) in professional basketball. The zine explores how DDDM has been adopted by different professional basketball organizations in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and how DDDM has manifested into different interesting outcomes. The primary research question it explores is: How has the implementation of data-driven decision-making ruined the aesthetic of sport? This question seeks to illuminate a few of the outcomes of adopting data-driven decisions in basketball and the implications for sports culture.
