All AI Is Local: Rejecting the Permicious Myth of Universalism in AI Discourse

All AI is Local: Rejecting the Pernicious Myth of Universalism in AI Discourse examines the discourse surrounding artificial intelligence (AI). In particular, the zine articulates a rejection of the universalism imaginary. This imaginary advances the belief that singular AI products produced in the West are, or can be, universal. The zine attempts to dispel this myth while highlighting its troubling implications. In so doing, the zine engages with concepts of digital universalism and coloniality while drawing on crucial insights from feminist, decolonial and critical race scholarship.
